About Your Dentist

Dr. Vonda Hester strives to educate, inform and perform the kind of dentistry that will restore her patients’ oral health for optimal function and a beautiful aesthetic. For Dr. Hester, providing a high level of patient care and service is why she comes to work each day — everything else is secondary to that. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Georgia — Athens and went on to graduate from Georgia Regents University (formerly known as Medical College of Georgia — Augusta) in 1992. Dr. Hester continues her education a minimum of four times a year, and she has also received advanced training at Dr. Andrew Kelly’s implant seminar.

A member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the Georgia Dental Society and Hinman Dental Society, Dr. Hester has been serving our community for 21 years. She also works as a volunteer dentist for the Ben Massell Dental Clinic and Ray of Hope Clinic. Dr. Hester enjoys working alongside her husband, Dr. Ron Stewart, and is supported by her family. She also likes playing the piano, gardening, watching sports events and baking.

For over 40 years, Dr. Ron L. Stewart has provided excellent dentistry to our community with great care and skill. He has the training and expertise you deserve from your dentist. After receiving degrees from Morehouse College and Lamar University, Dr. Stewart went on to attend Emory Dental School, graduating in 1979. He also received advanced training at the Pankey Institute Center for Advanced Dental Education. Dr. Stewart continues his education annually and is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the Georgia Dental Society and the North Georgia Dental Association.

Outside of the office, Dr. Stewart is supported by a large family. He enjoys cycling and tennis.

Dr. Kamal Smith is a general dentist who proudly offers high-quality dental services and oral health education for patients of all ages. Dr. Smith earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Duke University and went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry. He is adept in using cutting-edge dental technologies when offering dental care to meet the holistic needs of his patients. Dr. Smith strives to provide a comfortable treatment experience for his patients – carefully listening to their motivations, expectations, and fears to provide a tailored experience for each patient. He continues to learn innovative techniques available in modern dentistry through regular continuing education, advanced training, and volunteer opportunities with aims toward mastering his craft. Dr. Smith’s devotion to advancing the field of dentistry has led him to hold several leadership positions within dentistry both on a local and national level. He combines his medical background, personable demeanor, and keen attention to detail to give high-quality and personal care to all his patients.
 
When Dr. Smith is not at work; he enjoys dedicating his time to mentoring students to reach their fullest potential and achieve their professional goals. He founded a non-profit organization in 2020 named The Visionary Institute which aims to increase educational and professional opportunities for underrepresented students interested in careers in healthcare. During his free time, he also enjoys traveling, physical fitness, live music, and spending quality time with his family.
